The marriage celebration of
Rachel Kleinfelter and Adam Shellenbarger
Rachel Kleinfelter and Adam Shellenbarger
If you've made it to this website, there's a good chance you care about at least one of the two people pictured at the top of this page. We're grateful for your love! Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we have made the decision to only invite immediate family to the wedding ceremony for the safety of everyone. While we're both very excited to marry each other, we will miss getting to celebrate with many of our loved ones who have gotten us to this point.
We love you and care about you. We would like to include all of you in the following ways:
We will live-stream our wedding so that you can see it if you would like. Please check back on this website at 1 PM on November 14th to view the wedding live. As long as everything goes according to plan, you'll be able to view it later as well.
Once it's safe to do so, we intend to have a big celebration for anyone who wants to come. We'll have more details on that in the future, but we're hoping that will be in Joppa, Maryland in 2021!
If you would like to receive notifications for the above events, please make sure we have your desired contact information by filling out this form. We can't wait to celebrate with you!
Rachel is an operating room circulating nurse at Mercy Medical Center in Baltimore. Adam is the preacher of Joppatowne Christian Church whose building is in Joppa, Maryland.
Rachel and Adam met in October 2017 at a 5K fundraiser benefitting Joppatowne area school PTAs. This was a great place to meet as Rachel enjoys running and Adam loves supporting his community. They were introduced by their friends Kyle, who was handing out water with Adam, and Rachel Champion, who was running the race with Rachel. Soon afterward, Rachel started attending the trivia game Adam hosts on Sunday nights as a ministry for JCC and started dating in December 2018.
Once quarantine began so did trivia hiatus, but Adam suggested that they go over older trivia games in which Rachel had not participated. This was the beginning of a several month plan to get Rachel hooked on playing older trivia games leading up to her asking to play one on June 7, 2020. Unbeknownst to Rachel, Adam swapped out the trivia "halftime" round with one designed to propose to her. If you'd like to see those trivia questions you can find them here.
After Rachel accepted the proposal, they began to prepare for life together and have bought a house in Joppa where they will both reside after their wedding on November 14, 2020.
Do you have any more details on the November livestream ceremony?
We think the ceremony will probably be somewhere around 1:30 PM that day and should be able to be viewed live or on-demand any time after that. It should last around 20 minutes. We'll finalize details soon.
How can I send gifts?
We're so appreciative that so many people want to bestow gifts upon us. Since we both lived on our own for years leading up to our marriage, we've found that we have two of just about everything! Your friendship and understanding about our wedding circumstances is plenty. If you insist on something, we may establish a fund for some house projects (maybe a storage shed and blinds), but we ask that you consider holding off until we can have our official wedding celebration post-quarantine (and we hope you'll come)! Of course, we also love helping other people so if you would like to make a charitable contribution, that would be great as well! Feel free to pick a cause that you like, or if you want to donate toward the mission of Joppatowne Christian Church that would be great as well.
What's your new address?
Our new home address is 409 Garnett Road, Joppa, MD 21085. While we won't officially live there until after the wedding, we can receive mail there already.
